By India reported a 4,848 rise in active coronavirus cases, bringing the total to 63,063. The country ranks twenty-eighth among the countries with the most active cases worldwide. It added 12,847 cases on June 17th, bringing its total caseload to 43,270,577. With 14 more deaths, the overall number of Covid-19 deaths has risen to 524,817, or 1.21 percent of all confirmed illnesses.
On June 16, India received 1,527,365 additional Covid-19 vaccine doses, bringing the total number of vaccine injections to 1,958,403,471. Meanwhile, the number of recovered coronavirus cases in India has risen to 42,682,697, accounting for 98.64 percent of the overall caseload, with 7,985 additional cured cases recorded on June 17.
